A Home For Merle At Last??? Find Out Sunday!

My foster kid Merle may be going to his very own family on Sunday. He's been with me so long that it's making me teary just thinking about it. It's a couple and so far have knocked my socks off. I'm really hoping it as pans out well! It probably sounds ridiculous but the longer it takes to place him the more I feel like he'll think I didn't love him enough to keep him once he does go. All he knows is he's lived half his life in a house full of dogs & me. I am very excited about this prospect for him! Here's some pix to remind you which one he is. My little tiger boy.

Oh, and then there was the muddy paw incident LOL

And then there's that smile

Oh how exciting, I'll keep my fingers crossed for Merle! Don't worry Teresa, Merle will get in his own new home and everything else will be in the past! Congratulations to you on a job well done.

woo hoo! That is so exciting but it makes me sad at the same time! Im gonna miss him! I told Doug that if he wasn't adopted by the time we got home that we would adopt him! He was such a great dog and Bellas best friend. Shes gonna be sad when she comes home and hes not there. I am so happy for him though. He diserves it. That is so great what you did for him giving him a second change!

You may have your chance afterall. Her landlord said yes to her getting a dog and NO to Merle when shown a pix of him! People are soooo ignorant sometimes!!!! (stomping my feet too, do we have an icon for that?)
Anyway, the other applicant already backed out too.

Oh, no doubt in my mind. People who judge a book by the cover infuriate me! Bet if he was any other color it would have been a non issue.
The rudies out there with mean pits that end up loose and causing havok & making headlines are on my "you know what" list! Right behind them are the just as inept people who don't seem to think there's anything wrong with their animals making litter after litter and dropping each one off in a box at the humane society to home or pts whichever the case ends up for them! Or thinking their studdly boys got it going on and they don't have to worry about what to do with any of the babies produced...
Sorry, sore subject.

I know it hurts, I know you are fustrated and most of all I know you are angry because of the stupidity of people. I do not use the use ignorant because we are all ignorant until we are taught. Stupidity on the other hand is not trying to learn or trying to be tolorant at all. I am so sorry that Merle was not adopted, but maybe it was for the best? There IS a person, couple or family who hungers for a dog such as this. Pick your chin up, be proud of yourself and for Merle to get at least this far. Merle's day will come and so will yours. I am so proud of you!

Thanks Fairlight & Faith! It just makes me so sad for him . I thought this was a great match for him. She's been a vet tech for 15 years and has been waiting and watching for the right dog for the past 4 years and he was it as far as they were concerned! At the rate his app's have been coming in, maybe she'll be in the new house and he'll still be available??? If not, maybe it really wasn't meant to be...
Houston was adopted today though
