*Pics* Nail problem

This nail doesn't look normal and I believe it is what was causing issues for Koni last week. What does this look like? Is the nail broken? It is longer than all the other ones and seems hollow like.

Back side of this one nail is longer

The backside of the nail is a different color.

The inside is hallowed like.

Hmmmm... I think all of Kirby's nails look like that. They are very brittle and difficult to trim.

I'm assuming you didn't cut them, in the first pic you can see the quick isn't touched if the nail did break.

I think I can see also in the first pic how the front part is black'ish and the back part isn't.

Sometimes my guys nails get all hollowed out if I don't get them as often as I normally do, but they're usually so short that there's no room for it to be all hollowed out or full of mud. LOL

The last pic looks like a chip... *shrugs* Sorry, I don't know much about doggy nails, but it doesn't look like anything serious.

looks normal to me. The white part is just nail. Where you see color through the nail is the quick.. It looks like her nails were trimmed recently but not at an angle so it left some white.

That looks completely normal to me too. Some dogs that have bi-coloreds nails will have some nails black, some nails white/pink, and some of them will have a sliver of black on them. The dry, brittleness.. is just that.. dry. Nothing medically wrong.

Sorry.

Normal to me I would use a dremel and shorten it.

That looks normal but I'd file/dremmel/sandpaper the bottom and underside. That's dead nail that is flaking off and can be trimmed. The top and the top of the tip look to have a healthy blood supply with very little extra nail. It's just that bottom has excess old nail and it looks like the entire hollow section is only in the old dead nail. If you shape it a little that will probably go away along with the chalky looking old nail.
