Poppy's littermate in rescue :(

I think I have found one of Poppy's littermates in rescue I am just waiting to see if the rescue can confirm some more details with me but I'm pretty sure it is. Guess what - he has "nervous" issues too...

If he is from her litter then the breeder will want to know - I can't understand why the owners didn't go back to them.

Most owners will hide they dumped the dog instead of feeling like they are admitting failure on thier part to the breeder. It actually happens alot. Calls to the owners are ot enough proof when checking up on a pup sold from past litter I've even heard of them lieing to the breeder that way when called to check on them over the years.

If it's her littermate, would you think about adopting him even if he has some nervous issues?

I'm still waiting for the rescue to get back to me but they wouldn't let me take him anyway. The nervous issues wouldn't bother me - I just found it interesting that Poppy has issues and so does this chap (something gone wrong with the breeding maybe?)

Anyway I used to homecheck for them and I know that I don't meet their criteria (which seems to be the case for most rescues ) so I wouldn't be allowed to have him.

They wouldn't accept us, just like most of the rescues won't accept us - we work full time and that means that we couldn't have a dog from them, no ifs, no buts and since I used to homecheck for them I know the rules and they know me and my circumstances so it's a no go.

I just want to find out more about him to see if he is her littermate and see if I can let the breeder know about him - it's not fair if he's in rescue and they don't know.

This upsets me. Most people work full time and their dogs are just fine while they are gone. Our SPCA will not allow anyone to adopt if there isn't someone home and you can't get a pup or small dog if you have kids and the dogs and cats are being euthanized because of these rules. Home visits and vet adn neighbor references, etc. should help get these dogs homes.

I just do not understand all the rules and regulations that dog rescues have that keep dogs from finding good homes. Almost everyone works outside the home. And not if you have kids? Most of the time kids are who the dogs love best. Are they really trying to find homes for the dogs or what?
Being a breeder of Yorkies and Mini Dachshunds I would say that if there are nervous problems in littermates then there is probably a problem with their breeding program.

Wake County is usually the same way but for some reason They just gave us Pepper at a open house they had, all we did was write a check for 115.oo, and sign a peice of papper...... it seeemed a lil bit off , but yay for us lol.

As for Breeders litters ending up in the shelters, Pepper was one of them. The breeder actually saw Pepper in the Dog PArk and we got to talking after some research sure enough The owners he adopted her out too handed her over the the shelter......sickness me but you know if they didn't i wouldn't have pepper
