Spring brings sickies.

Ewwww Kirby was running out both ends this morning. He hasn't been sick in a long time, but now he has what looks like mushy poop coming out the wrong side, and what looks like mashed over-ripe bananas coming out the other. Yuck.

Now that it stopped raining, and gotten hot, Kirby's gone to tons of places and could have picked up anything. In the last three days, he's gone to two school fairs, met his first horse, and gone to two parks including a picnic, in addition to the dog park. He could have snuck any sort of food (or semi-edible non-food) that isn't going over well, or perhaps a little virus; maybe it's just the sudden heat on his system. Whatever it is, I hope it passes over quickly because it sure is gross.

Make off with fresh horse manure? Seems every dog goes nuts the first time they come across horse manure and then they spend the next day or 2 puking and another day or 2 with diarhea. Azami finally figured out that gulping down large amounts of the stuff is very bad.

With the rain it could be giardia? I know when it snows here and then melts we have dogs come up with it all the time. I would say if it persists bring in a sample to the vet and get some Flagyl (metronidazole) to clear it up.

If Kirb was anywhere geese or ducks are you may want to get him checked. I know a friend just lost her Pap to something that is in duck poop. Sorry I couldn't be more specific. Watch he doesn't get dehydrated too. Get well soon Kirby.

No horse poop, they were RCMP horses at a demonstration, not at a farm.

Well, I'm not sure I'll be eating bananas anytime soon! Have you given him the tried and true - pumpkin?

I hope he feels better soon!!

I've always known that I have a way with words.

Kirby is better today. He was super hungry yesterday having thrown up all his food the day before. Come summer, I'll have to pump lots of liquids into him as he prefers to not drink at all. No more banana-poops but things are still squishy.
