Throat problem

Hi, my GSD girl, 18 months, bright as a button, suddenly has prob with throat, when she swallows she gags slightly and makes small yelp, looked as much as i can down her throat (!) no sign of anything, she is drooling a bit too....

I will take to vets if it doesn't clear quickly..... she takes treats ok without this problem and is running with her sister, ball chasing etc with no prob.....

any immediate thoughts? many thanks

I would think that it's possible she has some grass stuck down there. A friend of mine had a dog that would do that. She would have to run him to the vets on a few ocassions for the vet to put his hand down the dogs passage way to dislodge the grass. ......please watch your dog though...in my dogs case this happened and within a day it turned out to be a fever and a cold and she needed a shot and some meds. If your dog is not better or you are uncomfortable, give her a run to the vet.

She could have something stuck in her throat that makes her, gag. Can she eat propally?
If it doesn't improve ,I would take her to vet and ask for a x-ray,just to make sure that nothing is stuck!.

Could be a bone shard or small splinter of stick. Don't leave it too long if there is no sign of improvement.....don't want anything getting infected.....let us know how things are going.
