Toads

So I am out mowing the lawn and Georgie is running around trying to attack the mower (not to worry, it's the old fashioned rotary kind... no motor or anything). Anyway, a toad catches her interest and she goes over an tries to catch it. Well I pulled her off before she could eat it, but she was still foaming at the mouth, even from just licking it. Are toads something that can harm dogs if eaten? Or will it just make them foam?

Ist,take the hose, and hose her mouth, head down so that she doesn't swallow any poison, then,
Take yr dog to the vet,ASAP if she is foaming.
IF it is a bufo toad,it can kill her!.

Oh yes indeed toad can hut the dog. Why? I don't know. My dog was froathing at the mouth last year and I ran him into the vet asap....the vet first looked at him and thought he had eaten a toad. So there must be some type of poisons out there that toads secrete

I rinsed her mouth out... and called my vet. Since she only mouthed on it for a moment or two they said just to rinse her mouth out and keep an eye on her. She is acting fine. And it's been an hour... I think she'll be okay.

Now if she had actually eaten the frog... well then I might be worried.

Next question, is there any product I can use to keep toads out of my backyard? We live a block away from a pond, so they are everywhere.
