Non-exercise induced cough

The last week or so, my Airedale will occassionally cough softly once or twice when otherwise totally relaxed & napping on her bed. It's dry and shallow, if it was exercise enduced or was getting worse I'd totally think it was kennel cough but it's not. Shes not coughing at all when we're playing, walking, or even after an hour of running and playing at agility class last night. Any ideas?

Could be an environment-related allergy of sorts? Using a new detergent for your sheets perhaps?

Does she need a drink of water maybe? Sometimes Wyatt does that if he has sucked in a loose hair or something too...

Sounds like some drainage you might give benedryl. Has he/she been on heartworm preventative? If not, I suggest getting him/her tested.

It can also be changes in the weather or even allergies. I moved to Texas and my dog was sneezing and coughing like wild fire...turns out she has allergies.
