Anderson Co KY Shelter NEEDS YOUR HELP

Anderson Co KY Animal Shelter is full of dogs. And more are being shipped here today. Some will be euthanized if they don't adopt some pets out soon or have other rescues take them in. If you can please help this shelter!

Gosh they have a ton of dogs and cats.

Salem, if you have time you can contact some pure breed rescues and put the alerts out.

I know it looks like she's blind or almost blind too. I think that's one of the ones that came in recently. But old dogs do not last long at our shelter.. ANd no they don't normally get adopted.

I think this is the fullest I've saw it. And they said other dogs are coming in today! I contacted one rescue group for the two mentioned above.

I know petfinder also has a listing of all rescues by city/state. If you can I know the breed rescues will rescue non-purebreds. I'll take a look and see if I can find any mixes that I think I can help with. Chi's and Paps.

OK thanks I appreciate it. Lots of these dogs are being dumped on us from other shelters.

Our rescue group is getting more requests to take dogs than EVER, especially for large breed dogs.
#1 reason: The "teaser" interest rates!!! They got into a home, they got the big dog, the interest rate went up, the house payment went up, the balloon is due, they can't afford the home, they have to give up the home and poor big dog fido can't go along with their uncertain household future!
It's really sad to say the least!

I would love to have Rudy here to live out her life in luxury. I feel so bad for the older dogs, everyone wants a pup. If we were closer I'd be there with cash! I've been torn about fostering, I was either going to prefer preg dogs, since I have the whelping experience, or older dogs who might not get adopted... she has stolen my heart.
