Asian Dog breeds?

I was talking to my freind and we were talking about our dogs. He said he couldn't pronoucne the breed of dog, but it was some kind of asian dog. I'm just ondering what it could be.

akita, i've heard of that breed, but i'f never seen one. do you have pics of it?

Umm.. There are a LOT of asian breeds. What did this dog look like? Fluffy, smooth-coated, big, medium sized?
Shiba Inu is pretty easy to pronounce.. The Ovcharkas come to mind, if he can't pronounce it.
