ticks!
Could someone please tell me what the best flea and tick medicine is for the North dakota area? I just pulled 8 ticks off of my new puppy! This area has more ticks then they do flies. Anyone have any ideas?

I use 2 products,at the same time:Preventic for ticks and frontline for the fleas/tick.

without sounding stupid.......does preventic prevent the ticks and frontline kill the live ones? I've never heard of preventic, where can I get it.

Preventic is just for ticks and it's suppose to be good for 5 mths.
Frontline(fleas & Tick) is good 3 mths for fleas and only 1 mth for ticks. Even with this,it's not an 100% efficient. If you are in a state where ticks are numerous,you should also give yr dog ,the lymes shot.

I've never seen so many ticks! They are everywhere. Does that prevent against lyme disease?

He can still get lymes desease but might not kill him.Apparently there is a new lymes shot,in FR that is suppose to be more effective than the old one.It just came out,this yr.I don't know if they have it,here as of yet.Will check.

Forgot yr puppy was so young.Ask yr vet if you can give him an anti-flea shampoo and what product you can use for ticks.zzFrontline works by weight but i can't remember if you can use it on an 8 week old puppy.
