Loki - what's the matter?

Just today - something doesn't seem right with Loki. It does seem to be his hips. He doesn't want to do stairs (not even to eat - Loki loves to eat), he laid down and didn't want to get up when we went outside. Usually he's mean when he's in pain, and he hasn't been overly grumpy, just a little more stubborn.

We did go for a walk (just 3 blocks, nothing long) and he did bark/lunge at a couple of dogs that were barking and lunging at him. I don't see him favoring one side - could have he just pulled something? It just started today but I'm a paranoid mom - so any ideas on what it could be?

I did bring his food down to him and he ate just fine. I brought a bed down for him (normally they lay on the couch, but I don't think he'd climb up there today). It has just started this morning that he's been acting this way. At what point should we go to the vet (he's NOT limping or anything like that).

I think I would give him to Saturday, if there is no change or he is worse, maybe run him in on Saturday morning.
They always seem to pull and strain stuff. Seems about normal here to have someone favoring something.

Don't you just wish they could TALK and say 'hey - ma - I just pulled a muscle, don't worry and let me relax'

Could the heat maybe be getting to him? I do agree wait a couple days and see how he acts.

It's been a little cooler lately, so I don't think the heat is an issue. He probably just pulled something or is worn out.

Dogs have bad days just like people do. I think you are doing the right thing and waiting it out until saturday. What does Denali think of this?

Denali is having a hard time finding stuff to entertain herself . She jumped on Loki he yelped a bit and she backed off. I found a couple toys for her so she played with the toys and left Loki be.

We did go on a trail, but the trail was pretty clean. I do get them vaccinated against everything I can (I think Lyme disease is one of them). He probably just pulled something and I'm just overly concerned.
