Unhappy Two Different Issues

1st one...Buddy seems to be wobbling. He has Displasia, the left hip is affected. Now though he seems to be favoring the right one. This came on suddenly the night before last. I don't know if Marlee roughed him up during play while I wasn't looking. I try to supervise, but can't be with them every minute and sometimes she gets the better of him.He may have just stepped off something wrong too, who knows. Problem is, my Vet only has a small Xray machine.I have to wait and call Monday.

2nd one...Marlee has developed a lump between her shoulder blades. She had her DHLPP booster about a month ago, the lump has appeared about a week and 1/2 ago. Don't know if they are connected. The lump started out soft and is now getting firm.
So basically, I have the worried dog mom thing going on.

I hate to scare you, but the lump could be cancer. At least the lump I found on Sophia's rear end turned out to be a Stage I mast cell cyst. The sooner you get it looked at (and I mean the vet needs to take out some cells and stain them and look at them under a microscope) the better.
I hope it isn't and turns out to be a fatty cyst though.

Thanks for your input Ellymay. I am aware of what the potential could be, that's why I am concerned.I hope that isn't what it is, guess I will find out soon enough.

Well so far things have turned out well for Sophia. They cut out the cyst and much of the surrounding tissue and they think they got it in time. But like I said, don't wait, because the smaller it is the mroe likely they can remove everything (if it DOES turn out to be cancer).
Good luck!

From one worried mom to another.....I recently had a similar issue with a lump I found on Mel. I took him to the vet Friday and he was able to take a cell sample and veiwed them under the microscope. He was able to give me the good news right there that it was a benign growth. Mel does have other skin growths that he is removing next week....just to be sure.

I also have a dog named Buddy with minor health issues....does the worrying ever end?

I hope everything is ok with Marlee.

Ellymay is right, don't wait to have it checked.
Goldens are prone to cysts and masses that can be cancerous. As you know,Priska was just operated for a mammary mass that turned out to be benign.
Can you move it,around or is attached?
Yes,it could be vaccin related but it could also be something else.
As for the hip, golden are prone to hip displegia and if he does need an operation, then the quicker, the better for quality of life.
He also could have sprained so just give him,a couple of days of rest with no exercise.

Yeh, it was as I thought, delayed reaction to her booster shots.
One thing I did learn for Buddy was that I wasn't giving him a high enough dose of coated aspirin, so maybe the increase will help until after the Xray.
