Exclamation Dusty Update!

Dusty will have surgery Friday to have another melanoma removed. This is on the same foot she had her toe amputated from six months ago due to the first one.

Please keep Dusty in your prayers.

Thank you.

Okay my friends. 10 hours and counting until Dusty's surgery. My nerves are getting the best of me, so while I am typing, I am have a beer or seven to calm down.

I'm really nervous about the surgery, but I'm more nervous I'm might be doing something wrong. I was instructed not to feed Dusty after 6:00 pm tonight and to give her only 1/2 of her insulin tomorrow morning. She's diabetic! Isn't she supposed to eat to regulate her bg? I know she will not eat all day tomorrow, and when she comes home she will be limited to what she can eat and drink. All I can think of is I'm not doing something right. This isn't right. Am I making myself crazy by worrying and thinking to much or am I just a normal furry baby Mom?

DustyNDuke,
I'm sure your vet knows that Dusty is Diabetic and that his instructions are appropriate to Dusty's condition. I know though how hard it is not to worry at times like this. Tonight is spoiling night, let him curl up with you on the sofa....he'll like it but I think you need it! ;-)

I'll keep you both in my heart and thoughts, I'm sure all will go well. And I also know that this post is just so much BLAH, BLAH to a mom concerned with her furbaby! Hugs
