Exclamation Urgent

I have just learned a member of a diabetic pet group I belong to has a member that needs surgery in order to live. Without this surgery he will surely die.

They are getting together an auction for Ebay to raise money to help pay for his surgery.

If anyone can help, if anyone would like to donate either monetarily or with a contribution to add to Ebay, please go to the website below.

Most of us know how expensive our furry babies can be. So if anyone can help in anyway, please go to their website.

What type of surgery is needed for a diabetic dog?? Sorry to be skeptical but short of a Pancreatic transplant (which isn't even done in humans) I don't know what kind of surgery is needed.

Many diabetic humans and dogs need amputation surguries to save their lives. I am diabetic and it is a fear of mine.

Newbie...I do understand that and know that Diabetes (in humans or in our pets) is a terrible thing. I was just wondering what kind of surgery was needed as the OP was requesting donations for. BS control is the ulimate thing in preventing devasting consequences. Whether from diet or Insulin, the cost can be high if neglected.

This is what it's all about!!

Actual e-mail from this guys Mom.

UPDATE.We just returned from the VET. The trip home took 2 hours. It is a 25 minute ride if no traffic. Which in LA is just about always. My friend who brought me, just got her car fixed. However, it caught on fire on the way home! This has not been a good day! Of course with the exception of all the wonderful help and prayers from all of you!

I knew my baby was sick. But he was at "deaths' door"! He has ketosis
(sp?), and is in general bad shape. They don't know yet if he has pancreatisis
(sp?). He is now on IV, having x-ray, blood (curve), ultrasound done. They said he must be in the hospital for 3-4 days! With the exception of six yrs ago (when I almost lost him), and the 11k I spent to keep him alive, I have never been apart from him. I am more then worried! I came home (beyond exhaustion since no sleep in days), hoping for consolation from my other baby BABS. No luck there! Since she refuses to "talk" to me! She is VERY angry at me! It is like, "why didn't you bring my HUSBAND HOME?!!!! I AM TRYING NOW TO GET ON HER
GOOD SIDE AGAIN. LOL

The nightmare continues since the ESTIMATE I got was $2,000, minimum!!!
One thing is clear. That if you all hadn't helped me today my boy would have no chance!! leads me to askAN I EVER THANK YOU ALL FOR GIVING MY BABY THIS CHANCE?!!! XXXXX has been coordinating . AND WHAT A WONDERFUL JOB SHE HAS DONE!
I will forever be in her debt! She is priceless! I have also noticed all the
pledges of help and prayers that all the rest of you have offered. Thank you is simply no enough to say! I am sure you have all read his story. So
I am sure you know that he means EVERYTHING to me. I owe him so much.
Including my very life!

It's wonderful that her friends have helped her out.

Dusty, did you check the links Whim supplied in the Health sticky. Perhaps there is an organization which can also help.
