My Shadow Doxie

I had asked for help before for Doxie when he was depressed after his best friend, Susie died. She'll be gone 2 months on July 5th. I paid extra attention to him and gave him "Doxie" time, but now all he does is shadow me. He follows me everywhere. When I go to the bathroom, he scratches at the bathroom door and cries. His other friend, Jill, has tried to become closer with him, but he doesnt want anything to do with her. He finally buried his first bone since Susie died. Their game was he would bury the bone and she would find it. Jill doesn't find it, but she tries to play with him. They are both old (14) but Jill still runs around Doxie trying to get him to play. Anyway back to my problem, he wasnt like this before Susie died. But now it's like I cant go anywhere without him being right behind me. My mom says when I go to work in the morning, he waits for lunch time and then 5:00. I really don't know how to get him out of this. I know he probably still is mourning for Susie (we all are), but I wish he wouldn't constantly follow me around. Any suggestions?

lol. I never get to use the potty without an audience. Sorry I do not know how to get him out of it. Unless your willing to give him another friend that will play his game with him.

I agree about another friend... I did not know what to do when my senior Beagle passed away in Nov. my Rottie was so depressed. He has a new friend now, we adopted a 3 yr old Beagle...he is much happier now. They love each other

The only problem I have is my other dog Jill, who is also 14. She is a hound dog mix, she kind of looks like a dobie, but she's so moody. I also (well rather my mom) has a cat, Sambo. It took her awhile to get used to Doxie and Jill. Doxie is a black lab/basset hound mix. Me and my husband usually work 10 hour days and my mom (who is eldery (74) lives with us. What kind of friend would you suggest? A puppy or a little bit older dog?
