Maia not feeling well
On Wednesday night, Maia woke me to go out, which she hasn't done for a long time. By the time I got down to the kitchen, she had pooped in her crate-diarrhea.
I put her out, etc. It happened again about 5am. Again sometime while I was at work and again 2 time last night and twice today. It's not totally watery- just poopy, if you know what I mean-the only thing formed was a hunk of grass. I've been monitoring her real close and not letting her eat any grass, thinking maybe that is giving her the runs. I bought some chicken and rice today and have been feeding her that. She seems fine otherwise-playing, drinking her water, eating the rice and chicken like she is starving. How much should I feed her-she weighs 80 lbs. now. She finished her 2nd treatment for worms 4 weeks ago, and was tested 1 week ago and had nothing then, so the vet considered her cured of the worms (roundworms, I think they were). Anyway, I'll be taking a poop sample in on Monday. They said to just keep up with the chicken and rice till then. It seems to be a long time to have the runs, but I guess since she is still drinking normally and acting normal she should be ok till then, right? I'm also going to drive to the store tomorrow and get some pumpkin and try that too. I watch her very closely and don't think she got into anything bad, but who knows. Do you think it can be worms again (it would be the 3rd time)? Any ideas? Thanks for your help. This is the first time she's been sick since I adopted her, so I worry a lot about her . Thanks again! Kathy and Maia

Poor Maia. She may have a touch of a virus. I know last week I was sick with a stomach virus and one of my JRT had a touch of diarrhea a couple times. After about a day and a half it firmed back up. If she doesn't get better soon, you may want to get her checked out by the vet.

Another thing I just thought of-can dogs get this from the weather turning hot? I know that Wed. and Thurs. this week were the hottest days that we have had so far-in the 90's. Can that upset their stomachs? Guess I'm just reaching for ideas right now!

Don't really think you can do much more than you're doing.....bland diet and taking a sample in.
It's hard not to worry, sorry this has happened and I hope she's feeling better really soon!!
