Merlin throws up a lot

It started out that Merlin would throw up white foamy mucus after chewing on snow. It has now started to become a regular occurance.

Today was particularily bad. He was also running hot like he had a mild fever.

I gave him some GasX in case it was the start of bloat. He did have a big burb (I want to add a thank you to Shadowfaced danes for her posts on this subject).

Doing some research on the internet, there was mention of a throat infection causing similar problems. Merlin did have a puncture from a stick last year in the back of his throat.

Other than the vomiting, he usually appears perfectly normal.

I mentioned it to my vet at Merlin's last check up and he did not seem overly concerned.

So anyone else have something similar? Any advice?

He's normal again now. But earlier he was hot to the touch and very sucky.

I put him on rice and eggs for the next few days.

What it just white foamy stuff he was throwing up today?
If it's bile he may have reflux and need something like a doggy Zantac.

I think my dogs live in fear of me and my thermometer. Whenever they are acting off first thing I do is get the old thermometer out and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Hope Merlin's feeling better. I know every once in awhile (rarely) one of the dogs throws up clear, mucus stuff.

How long is Merline outside Dax? You know how sometimes they sneak and want to chew on some special snips of grass. I know with my three dogs within 5 minutes of chewing on grass they are upchucking the white foamy stuff. Sure hope Merlin is feeling better.

I think I'd be getting a second opinion too. Anything that's not normal and continues for a while is usually something that needs attention.
Poor baby, give him a hug from us!

Have you done any regular diagnostics? Blood work? Radiographs? Anything of that sort. If so, was it normal?

I could suggest giving a pepcid a day.. either 10 or 20 mg, in the morning on an empty stomach. My worry is, it may help your problem, but cover up the reason why he is vomiting. (IE- Addisons, IBD, etc).

That's what I have to do with Faith. She simply has too much acid in her body. Nothing else showed up when we did testing on her. It was the same thing, too, Dax. Started out when she ate ice cubes. Then, started happening several times a week. Now, it's a rare occurance because I have her on a different feeding schedule that keeps her stomach full and she's not even on the acid reducer anymore.
