Dakota won't pee!

She did this when we traveled across country once before but this is ridiculous. For two days now, Dakota will only pee once at night. She REFUSES to go during the day. She just stands there outside and if I tell her to go potty she goes and stands by the door.

She is stressed out, I'm sure. Daddy isn't around, grandma and grandpa are mad at her and she doesn't understand why, and it's been too hot to do much excercise. My parents are really upsetting her (AND ME!) with this whole fish thing. The dog didn't eat the stupid goldfish and even if she did, it's over and done with and she doesn't know they are mad because of it. It's like one minute they are being sweet to her and the next they are using scary voices and confusing her. She's very sensitive.

Is there a friend you could stay with instead? Or different relative?

Honestly, no. I've tried but with two big dogs, no one really has the space.

Vanilla will pee on command but Uma will hold it until the cows come home and she is in her own back yard. I would take a water soaked handkerchief wrap it around Dakota's neck and both of you set our for even a 10 minute walk and let the river begin!

I'm making dinner now, but once I have that out of the oven, I think I'll give it a shot. That girl is so stubborn sometimes!

I would always suggest going to for a long walk. Then, take the grandparents for the a long walk and remind them, one day, they are going to do something or not do somthing and YOU will be angry with them and THEY WILL NOT KNOW WHY.

Older people dont have some of the compasion as the younger people do. My neighbor is 85+ years old I know she would jump infront of a bus for that dog.

Tell the grandparents, compasion, and here is the $*&^&$*# money for new *$*#&$* gold fish.

Next time they use a raised voice at the animal, use a rasied voice at them when they say something simple.... like, can you take the trash out.... NO YOU TAKE THE TRASH OUT YOURSELF... look at the shock on their faces. Do it EVERY time they lash out at the pup and if they dont get it, do it when you are all out to dinner or at an event. WHen they ask what your problem is... "well I figure since you talk to my pet that way, you wanted to be talked to that way and treated that" Dad, make sure you put the seat done and do not splash. Mom, make sure the tampax is put away"

Sorry, I am not into vengful words, but, people are not human too and animals are more human than people are.
