Update On Merle

When it rains it pours LOL Ok, maybe not pouring but Merle has caught the interest of 2 different families.

Merle had one family come to meet him today. I think it went well. I couldn't read the Dad though. Mom was pretty delighted with him as was their grown son. They went home to discuss it and if he's what they're looking for, we'll set up a meet & greet with their female dog. That could prove to be interesting as they both sound the same- a little leary at first of new dogs. Hopefully it will be fine.

He also has a couple coming to see him on Tuesday.

Nothing for months and both times he's drawn interest it was in pairs at the same time! Weird.

<for a few of you out there> As much as I adore him,.... I can't keep them all and there are unfortunately, so many more that need the same as I've given him and the others. I just want the very, very best for him!!!!
Of course a pix for those who may not know who my Merle baby its

When he does get adopted I fear it will one of the most bittersweet & sadest days of my life. No one said fostering would be easy I know!
I also didn't really expect anyone, let alone a puppy, to be with me for 5 months and counting!
I think if I didn't care so much about them, I couldn't do this though either. They take up a huge chunk of my "free time" whatever that is LOL and I do it whole heartedly!

Kraemer was supposed to be an easy dog. We had him for almost 4 months and it was HARD to say goodbye. I still miss him, but the home he found was wonderful. You did good with Merle and if one of these homes is the right one for him, then you will know that's he's in a good place. It's hard, though.

Oh Teresa, I know how you feel! We wanted to keep Mira too but I have decided we just can't and hope to help others. I hope Merle finds a great home. You are awesome.

Oh I hope he finds his forever home with one of these two families. Way to go Merle. I want him to find a hime soon as the longer you have him, the harder is gets to be to let him go. Good luck on these meetings.

We both have say so and input. It's a joint effort. They are more impartial of the home & family where I am more so because, fostering the dog, I get to know them better and can better see a good or not so great place that might be interested in him. They give the foster veto power so to speak or the final decission of those interested.

The second family will be here tomorrow night (Tuesday). We'll have to wait until after they meet him.
