Most Common Breeds in Your Local Shelters?

Well, my friends and I at the Humane Society recently saw a very small shift in the breeds of dogs we've been most commonly getting at our shelter.

Before we were getting loads of ACDs, JRTs, Labs, a few Aussies and some very large mixed breed dogs into the shelter. Recently we've been seeing more and more Shepherds, Shepherd/Husky mixes, Beagle and Beagle mixes, more Labs, pitbulls, and Chi/small breed mixes.

So, what is most common at your shelters?

I noticed a lot of shepherd and shepherd mixes when I went to drop off some food last week. But there was a shar pei mix and it was the cutest little thing.

In my county shelter, there are a ton of shepherd mixes and pit bull (mixes). I just checked their website.

Lab mixes are still really high but I am also seeing an increase in beagles and beagles mixes as well. Also pointer type mixes. And alot of poodle mixes large and small

There are almost always beagles in our shelter. As well as labs, Rotts, and shepherds.

Ours is mostly Pit Bull & their mixes (every or every other stall) followed by labs & lab mixes. Of course they call any black mixed breed a lab mix though so 2nd place is hard to say. 3rd place is probably a close tie between chows mixes & shephard(s)/mixes.
All the few rest are a hodge podge of anything really but mostly medium to larger sizes. Hardly ever are there small dogs in there.
