Ariel Training Update

I have recently taught Ariel "up" (last week). The little smarty pants picked it up right away. Up being to place her paws lightly on my chest standing on her back legs.

At first hubby thought I was nuts to teach this because he thought she would start jumping up on us uncontrolled. He was worried that she would knock us over, and the list goes on.

I taught her this so that she would jump up on things as she is too heavy for me to lift. So tonite during the picture retakes - I say Ariel UP and she jumps right up on the table no hesitation - no fear.

I love it when a plan comes together. Moo I'm seriously considering going back to training with agility yet another goal.

I wasn't kidding when I said there are rotties who are good at it. There's one at our club, Soleil, the handlers last name is Sun. She helps represent the team at the CanWest Pet Expo.

Who the heck knows how they fit in the tunnel, but it happens. LOL.

Way to go Ariel, who's a little smarty pants??? Ariel is! Up is a good thing to teach, imagine how hard it would be to lift 110lbs straight up...

In my house I call it a hug, with paws on the chest and back feet on the ground. Jump on something, it is hop up. To jump over something, it is over and to just jump in the air for fun (Jack's favorite) is just jump. They all serve there purpose. And neither Jack nor Greta jump on any person. We are still working on Tanner but he is learning. Isn't it funny when we know of dogs are smarter than men give them credit for? LOL

lol, that is sooooooo funny, because my mom taught King the exact same thing, and dad thought she was nuts, your teaching him to jump up on people he said. But King has never started jumping on people because of it,and it has become very handy to!
