Exclamation A very friendly Rott

Well I had mentioned in a different thread that I may be finding a home for my neighbors Rotti, and the time has come. He is away and cannot care for her. Right now she is chained up on a thick chain to a tree, where she has lived for at least a year or more. My husband and I take care of her when he's gone, and he told us to go ahead and find a nice home for her, which I'm thankful for.
Now for a little info....tho not much cuz I don't know that much about her.

-Name: Mia
-Breed: Rottweiler (not registered as far as I know)
-Sex: Female
-Spayed? No (I tried to tell him to get her fixed...but I guess he didn't listen)
-Age: About 4, but that's just a guess
-Weight: about a 100lb or so..possibly more. (My husband has put her on a diet, as the owner was feeding 8 cups a day ) She is overweight...
-Temperment: A very friendly dog. She just wants to be pet and loved on because she really hasn't had it much. We can take away her food without her complaining and pretty much do anything to her.
-Issues: She is not house trained...she has never lived in a house. When she was in the house alone, she chewed things up.
Another thing is, she may be pregnant again. I am not sure, but her teets are large like they were the last time she was pregnant, and she does NOT make a good mother (she is too hyper, and crushed several of her last litter by accident )
-Activity level: She is very hyper when we go to see her, but that's natural as she never gets exercise. I think with a little love and care and exercise she will calm down.
-Shots: Unknown if she's ever had shots.
-Location: Georgia

If you would like to know anything else, please feel free to ask. I can email the owner to get more specifics, but it may take a couple days for him to get back to me.
I hope this girl can be given a great home. I would take her, but I am overseas; my husband works and already has 3 animals to take care of alone while I'm absent.
Here are some pics of her (sorry they aren't better pictures!)

The only thing though, is that you have to be the owner to give them up, and as I am not the owner, I do not want to falsely advertize that I am. My husband will take care of her until we find a home for her and I would rather not have to give her to a rescue...if it comes to that it does, but I would like to try and rehome her first

Well I'm overseas so I cannot call them myself, but I'll let my husband know about them and see if he can get ahold of them

Purebred rescues are an EXCELLENT choice for this girl. It would not only help with any medical issues if she is pregnant, but they also very carefully screen potential homes. Sometimes you just never know what the home is really going to be like, but with careful selection, there is rarely a problem.

Talk to the rescue and see if they've got room for her. Then, ask the owner to sign a paper or something saying you can rehome her. He might even be able to mail or fax it to the rescue if he is out of town and you can call him.

I've rehomed dogs on my own that I fostered and I've worked with two different purebred rescues. The rescue is the best way to go. She'll be given the best chance there.

I am going to have my husband call them and see if they have room at the rescue. If they don't, I'll tell him to see if they have any fosters, or would help us find a home for her.
Unfortunately we cannot have the owner sign papers or anything because he's in Iraq. I suppose he could mail something, or give us a special power of attorney over his dog, but that will also take some time...

I hope someone can step up soon to help her. I know I sure would if we were closer. I wonder why and email signing her over wouldn't work? It's in writing. If it's possible anyway.
I also think she looks pregnant along with being heavier. She may need help real soon.
Wonder what naughty neighborhood dog is the Daddy?
Also, she may not be as rambunctious this time with the pups as last time of course she also may be...
I just hope help comes soon for her.
