Shelter Closing Down- Help?

For anyone living in the pacific northwest:
The Moses Lake Shelter (eastern WA) is closing it's doors.
They have 90 dogs and I don't know the quantity of cats that they have to place immediately!
If you are looking for a pet or can foster for any local rescue, please contact me or the shelter.
I have a list of the available dogs by description (no pix) only.
If you can't but know someone that might be able to help, please have them contact one of us. They need all the help they can get right now. That's alot of dogs let alone the cats they've got.
We're going down on Sunday to see who we can help out and bring back to our rescue.

Oh, belive me I know! All the shelters and rescues seems to be constantly at capacity! We are very, very small! But we have had good adoptions this past month. My big boy Zeus is going to his home on Monday so that frees up a spot. I may have a few more than normal for a bit... more food, more poop but what the hey? There are alot of dogs that are other than lab or pit & their mixes (the most prevalent around here) so it might stir up some interest and adoptions easier here than on the east side of the state too.
Thanks though SWC!

Wow, how sad. There are so many unwanteds and a shelter closing isn't good news. Wish I could help, but I'm 3,000 miles away! How will they ever find places to take that many animals?

We, along with many other rescues and shelters were contacted. If all of us who were contacted in turn make more contacts and so on it will make a difference (hopefully).
We are small but we have great networking capabilites in our collective different ways to help our how ever we can. Hopefully that will spread out to bring in more help.
Eventually, even if it means everybody possibly taking an additional dog more than usual... that's what I'm going to do, they will all get a safe place & the time to get into their forever homes!

Are they closing due to lack of funding Teresa?

From what I understood, it all started with a new director/euthanizer. She fired alot of people right off the bat or they quit for challenging her euthinazia methods and decissions. From what I understand it was cruel. They were all long term workers there too, as well as the volunteers. It caused an uproar all over the shelter and rescue community here.
Next thing - she's gone and 2 volunteers are left caring for all these animals. After the allegations were brought to light, the board of directors wanted no part in it anymore, thus dissolving it.
It's really a shame since I think we all know that for each less service provider for the animals, it affects so many over even a short period of time.

That is horrible! What a horrible woman!

I wish I could help, but I am far away and we won't have our house for another month.
