German Shorthair Pointer Anyone?

Tomorrow I'm picking up Roscoe (yep, another one) who is a German Shorthair Pointer. He doesn't have as much ticking as some of the photos I've looked up. If anyone has any additional info on them for me besides what I've read, please share!
He was left at some peoples house for a couple of weeks. That was 9 months ago! They, and I quote, "were drunks" who kept him tied up outside 24/7 and were going to "dump him off at the pound". A gal talked them into signing him over and he was given shots, worm meds & neutered. Only thing left was he needed a foster home until the right family comes along. Tag, lucky me, I'm it. He's has touched the hearts of everyone who's been helping him so far. No one had room or already had unfriendly dog issues at home so they couldn't take him in.

I once fell in love with a GSP that was colored like that one. Gorgeous!

Good luck with him. Poor guys had a tough life so far, he'll be grateful to you forever.

I have a feeling him & Ginger will get along like kindred souls here! If he's even a tiny bit as grateful as the gals who've taken care of his needs so far but couldn't foster him, I think we'll do fabulous together!

Well I'm a happy owner of 2 GSP's with totally different personalities. I'm not an expert on the breed, but I can help you with any questions you might have.

Oh, thank you Doglady! I was hoping you'd catch this thread! I'm sure I will have questions, if not before, than once I meet him on Saturday!
The basic profile of the breed sounds quite a bit like my Gingers traits. I know that all dogs have their unique personalities though so.. we'll see!

The only one I can find has only 3 dogs listed and says Needs Fosters on 2 of them. I'm not thinking they will be of much help.
There aren't very many listed and even fewer pure breeds on petfinder. Especially any where close to me.
