Sorry for taking so long on the update. Yesterady was a long day.

As I left to take Kobie I was feeling pretty good about it, I had my self convinced it would be fine and that it was best for Kobie.
When I put his collar on, he was so excited, maybe he knew?
We got up there, met his dad, and he was VERY nice. I took Kobie into the backyard, he let out his Doberman on lead(actually the soon to be exwifes Doberman) no problems, it was almost like he didn't exist. Next came a CRAZY JRT/Basset mix. Again no probelms, Kobie was not too sure what such a small dog was.(this dog is also moving out) Next came out his Golden Retriever brother. Jake is 8 years old and very nice. Kobie HATED him!!! Showed all his teeth, growled, snarled, you name it. I was shocked!

We decided to take just Kobie to the dog park to see how he would do. There were no dogs there, so we headed back to the Goldens house. We did another introduction, and things went so much better. It went well enough I felt comfortable enough to leave Kobie. Scott(his new dad) has GREAT dog sense, and I trusted him 100%

So, Kobie is now living in Fort Wayne Indiana. I called him about 9PM last night and all was going well. He decided no to try Kobie at the dog park for a week or so, just let him settle in.

I miss him ALOT, and have thought about him constantly since I left.

was the golden being aggressive or dominant toward him or just the fact of another male of his own size that could challenge him?.
Cross fingers,it all goes well!.thanks for the update.

That was the weird thing, the Golden was not at ALL being aggressive or dominant. I guess Kobie isn't use to hairy dogs with tails

A few emails with Scott today!

Never thought about a horn! I let him off his leash at the park, just put it on because one dog started growling through the fence before he even came in... i saw the other copy here, I will put it in the mail next week. Do I need to do anything with his microchip to get the information to reflect my ownership of Kobe? i will get you posted on how he is doing. He is becoming more physically close with me, putting his paw on me, rubbinghis face on me, etc. He is warming up fast!

Scott

I am so happy!!! I have been thinking about him constantly! I'm so glad he has attached to you. I'm so happy I taught him it is ok to trust people. I think you right about him being on lead and protecting you. Maybe you should buy one of those boat horns, and just let him stay off lead at the park. The boat horn will make enough noise to seperate the dogs, we use to use them out at the Doberman kennel, worked EVERY time.
I truly think you have great dog sense, and trust you 100% with my boy. Please keep me up to date, and I promise not to bug you too much!
Oh, I forgot to bring our copy of the application back. Can you please mail it to me?
Traci Williams

Subject: Better and better all the time...

Last night, Kobe was great, very calm and peaceful. Slept in bed with me and on floor both. No problems with Jake at all. He spent 4 hours in his crate with no problems (nothing moved or disturbed). He finally went poop today at the dog park (HUGE poop). He pees all the time outside, but didn't poop until noon today. He is eating fine. We got to the dog park first today, he met and got along with 6 other dogs that came in after him (one growled at him, and I had him on the leash so he went nuts, when I let him off the leash, he was fine. apparently protecting me). He spent 2 hours at the park, ran around, played fetch with a new Kong ball I got, pooped, and had a great time. He gets in the truck better, and rides in the truck with Jake with no problems! Very quiet and lays down in the truck. Doesn't whine or bark at all when I leave to go into a store for a minute. I got him a pich collar, name/ID ta g, put all his tags on his collar, etc. He is all set! Its amazing how a couple of hours changed him so much. He is allready very attached to me, when I took him to my parents house and went intot he bathroom, he stayed right outside waiting for me. He thinks steps are pretty cool, a little unsure of them though! Everyone likes him alot. I hope he gets along with little Opus as well as he does Jake now.

So far, its going MUCH better that I ever thought it would have. For an 11 month old puppy, he isn't hyper or too active. We walked around the house a lot, he runs at the dog park, but is very calm at home.

That's wonderful! He sounds like a great owner. Did you invite him to Prodog?
