My aunty hasnt gotten her dogs there yearly shots since 2002 last time I checked there collar tags, I hate when I see dogs with old tags around there neck, they arent safe and protected more then they are now. I know some old dogs cant get it which I can understand, but they should be protected if they are allowed the yearly shots no? There should be a law to get it every year unless a vet says other wise or that asking to much? You think I should take them and get them there yearly shots out of my own pocket, shes making them over weight to, if you want more or all background just ask and I can show old pictures I have and all, been a good while since I was able to visit over there or anything. Love to hear your views and thoughts. Pictures will be here soon, but there not recent.

You may want to ask you aunt why the old tags are still on the dogs neck and where are the newer ones? This way it may open up a conversation and you can tell her how important it is to have the dogs yearly shots.

Can I ask why she isn't caring for the dogs properly? Are there other things not being done? Is it simply a finance issue?
The problem with not getting vaccinations (I titer vs. automatically getting annual shots but that's a whole other thread) is that the dogs typically aren't getting looked by a vet at all to assess their general health, aside from shots. Senior dogs, especially, should have an annual physical IMO. Sounds like you're in a tough spot. I'd need to know more about the situation to comment further. |

first thing i would do is ask her wht the deal is...for example faye has gotten her yearly shots but her tag was misplaced when my boyfriends mom did some cleaning before we had the chance to change her tag...we left the old one on her collar just so she would have something in case she got away and the people didnt want to contact us directly or something ((she has another tag with her name and his parents phone number as we got it for her before we moved))...i would talk to her and see what the deal is and then decide if you need to step in...
