Fish never gave my dogs gas.....but then again after switching to Canidae if they do have gas it is just loud pharting noises....no smell....man it sounds like trumpets!

If he doesn't usually have salmon, it could be the salmon. Try giving him a tablespoon of plain, non-fat, (do not feed yogurt with artificial sweeteners, though...) yogurt with his meals for a few days and it should clear up the gas.

Doxie was sick all day yesterday-I woke up to having to clean up diarrhea all over the floor. Last night his tummy was gurgling and making funny noises. He wasn't hungry and as soon as he got up, he went out and ate grass, came in and threw up all over the bed, which I had to clean up before I went to work!! My mom gave him a pepto bismol tablet and acidophilus tablet. I only gave him a small bit of dry kibble and a couple of tablespoons of yogurt. Hopefully he'll feel better. I know a few people who have had a stomach virus lately but I didnt think dogs could get it from people.

The story of my life. Faith has a bad gas issue and often has soft stools. I have had that happen many times. I just give her pumpkin in her meals now.

Go to the baking ailse in the grocery store and get a can of pumpkin. Unspiced. Give Doxie a couple spoonfulls. I am starting another thread that might help you, too. It'll be in health in a few minutes, lol.

Rough Collies is right, the easiest way to firm up soft stools, and also loosen hard stools is plain pumpkin. (Not pumpkin pie filling!)

I got some today after work. I put some in both his and Jill's food. I'll let you know how it worked!
