    Question What breeds?

What breeds of medium sized dogs make excellent guard dog,but are also good w/ both cats & dogs,& only require a moderate amount of exercise? They also have to be able to travel very well.

Pitt, these are the breeds that come to my mind

#1 - SPCA special!! When you are looking for specifics I think this is still the first place to look.
#2 - lab. Although my idea of moderate exercise and yours might be different.

Anything puppy would get along with cats and dogs.... but I really can't think of a gaurd type dog that would only require a 'moderate' amount of excercise.

    bassett hound maybe.
I personally wouldnt place labs as having moderate exercise requirement they are usually more high maintenance than that.

A German or Dutch Shepherd might do, or a Boxer. Although most ...working dogs are going to require a little more then moderate excersize.

You all gotta meet Greta and Jack. They are the laziest labs around, I swear! Well, if the opportunity presents itself to them, they will fine the ambition to run like the wind and act like idiots but over all, they are laid back, calm and lazy

i think labs would be a good choice. cause i have a lab and he doesn't need a lot of engery and he is a great protecter. my mom doesn't ever worry about leaving me home at night cause she knows he is here. lol

Wow you are lucky! Most of the labs i know need as much exercise as my newly aquired border collie or they are absolute terrors!
