Old dogs teeth are rotting

My rat terriers teeth are in real bad conditon and I was wondering if any of you guys have remedi or product in mind that could help until I get paid next month. To clean her teeth at are vet it would be aproxemently $140-$150. I was also wondering if there might be an alternitive to cleaning her teeth, than to have them sedate her at the vet. She is old so I dont know how she would handle that. If any of you have any suggestion please post, I am up for any ideas.

Dental care is something that should be done along the whole life of the dogs and cats. If not, this is the inevitable option. If this isn't done, eventually you will be paying even more to have the rotten teeth removed and the gums cleaned of the dental gum disease that will eventually set in.
The price you quoted is very good. It's $300 here for a canine cleaning. Remember, preventative and early care is less expensive in the long run.

The best option if the teeth are already that bad, is to get them done by the vet asap, otherwise, as Teresa said, you will be paying a LOT more for more extreme dental work.
After the dogs teeth are cleaned by the vet you can try picking up some doggie toothpaste and a brush and start brushing the teeth if she cannot chew on bones or doesn't like to chew on bones.
BTW, how old is she? Many old dogs do alright on sedation as long as they don't have any other health issues to take into consideration.
