Question Blind Dog

Hey everyone,
I was woundering if anybody knows how u can tell if a dog is blind? I know if u put there finger to there eye and if they don't blink then they r blind. But i was woundering if anybody else knows how u can tell by there eyes if they r blind.
Thanks

A vet will be able to look at the retina for faults but if there is no obvious discolouration etc then it is impossible to tell just by looking with your bare eyes.

doesnt sound too abnormal to me, could just be his pigmentation. If you are very worried or he knocks into things more often than you would expect then take him to a vet for an examination.

Without knowing the cause of the blindness there isnt a lot we can tell you.
I dont quite understand what you are asking, do you mean can other people tell he is blind just by looking at him? If so then the answer is probably no until they see him move around.

Im very sorry to hear to hear that. Whether you know for a fact hes blind, or just assume he is because he crashes, I still suggest you take him to a vet. Like Lou3 said, what are you asking? If your not sure he is blind and your are just assume...try taking a peice of paper and dropping it down, it will do its little thing while falling and MOST dogs will atleast take a glimpse at it, if not catch it and run off. If you get no reaction, thats one sign. If you taught him hand signals, try those, if you get nothing, that could be a sign aswell. If you dont have the money for a dog and it need...maybe its just not fit for you. Vet checkups are a neccessity.

Ermmm... Sorry, but I really don't understand what is written in this post....

But for the initial question, you can tell if a dog has sight problems if his eyes are cloudy, but you would need a vet to check for sure. It could still be something treatable.

yeah. Moo, exile was saying that if u can't afford a ceck up thing than u shouldn't own a dog but she doesn't know and thats what i was saying cause if we have to take it to the vet than we find the money and all of our dogs are up to date on all there shots and everything so she has no room to talk
