I just got a call from Paws Ahead, and agility is cancelled... due to what? SNOW! More reasons to hate the stuff. Eeeeeyuuuch! Today was supposed to be the first day back from a winter break, but Noooo, snow has to ruin everything.
So, we haven't been in 3, soon to be 4 weeks. Waaaaaahhhhhhh What else do you guys think I can teach Kirby while I'm waiting for NEXT WEEK's agility club night? In the last week, we've perfected balancing treats on his nose and flipping it up to catch it (Nose... nose... nose... FLIP IT!), and he's figured out how to catch a tennis ball. It's pretty impressive if you've ever seen the proportion of a tennis ball to his head. LOL And I've also trained him to jump up into my arms and to jump and spin at the same time (not very graceful, but it's something to do)... |

SNOW? Did you say SNOW??? Ohhhhh please send it here, I am sooooo hot and listless that even the thought of doing anything is beyond thinking about.
Does Kirby crawl? You can teach that, or the sit, down, stay and walk away. Good prelude to hide and seek. |

It's gross, Ellie, you can have it all. It gives you something to think about though... "Should I step on the slushy part of the sidewalk, or the icy, slippery part?"
http://www.prodoggroomingsupplies.co...?t=3811&page=2 Yes, Kirby crawls, and he can play hide and seek as well, he can find my crazy brother before he proceeds to lick his ears off. lol. Ugh, as you can tell, neither of us do well in low-energy conditions. |

Snow?? Aww I want snow!!! It's like Jan 11th and I still have not seen more than about 4 flakes of snow. Oh and when I go home, what happens in Kentucky?? They get all kinds of crazy snow!!! Grrrr, I WANT SNOW!!!! Send it to me, send it to me plleeaassseee!!!!!!.
oh, cough* cough*, umm I wasn't ranting was I? Sorry, what was the question again . . oh yeah. Umm does Kirby know the command "leave it"? My brother's girlfriend (Bekah) taught this trick to her puppy. She would have Molly (the puppy) lay down and then put a treat on each paw and tell her to leave it. The Molly would stare drooling at the food until Bekah told her she could eat them. I started a trick along the same lines with my puppy. I would set three treats in front of her and tell her to leave them all. Then I would point to one and tell her she could get that one but not the others. Then I would let her have the next one and finally the last one. She hasn't quite perfected it yet so I'll have to wait till summer before she can really do it well. |

Thanks for the link, more catching up for me hey!!
Kirby looks like he is enjoying it though Moo. Snow, Snow, send Ellie some snow. I can just see the look on my dogs faces seeing snow, Ellie would probably growl at it, Sophie and Wally would probably think it is one giant icypole and proceed to eat as much as they can. lmao |

Leave it was one of the first things I ever taught his, except to begin with it was more "DON'T TOUCH THAT!!!!" than "leave it". LOL. He's actually very good about not touching/running after stuff if I tell him, if I tell him to leave it, he avoids it like a plague. I had to invent new commands when I was trying to balance treats on his nose because I would say 'leave it', and he would get up and take a seat about 4 feet away "I don't get the food? No sense in tempting myself." lmao
And I know Ellie - He loves it! Why? Why? Why? To torment me, and make me thaw the ice chunks off of his body, that's why. LOL |

lmao Moo, I could just see poor Kirby's confusion, over 'leave it'.
So the snow sticks to his fur? I could just see your face, him bounding in, then little puddles all over the floor as he thaws out. lol. |

Oh you guys.
I do like the snow. I don't however, like the fact that my furnace is acting up... |
