Need Some Advice

I have two questions . Jake and Sadie are very intelligent . Having spent all of their lives to date in a kennel , it only took them 3 days to be completely house trained . The problem is , Jake likes to mark his territory . Being so large - that's a pretty big problem . What can I do to curb this ? If I see him and tell him no , he puts his leg back down , but I don't always see him .

Second is Noel . She's a smart little thing too , but very stubborn . In spite of the crate and frequent trips outside , she still wants to potty in the house . She can hold it all night now , so I know it isn't that I'm waiting too long - we take her out every 2 - 3 hours during the day . And I know she knows I don't like it , because she goes and hides out of my site to do it . Any ideas on this ?

For those not familiar with my dogs , Jake is a 3 1/2 yr. old St. Bernard , and Noel is a 3 month old Siberian Husky .

For Noel, I would tie a leash to your belt when she is out of the crate so she can't get out of your sight. Two weeks min of this. She's now hiding because of "correction" for mistakes. I'm sure she'll get it. Do you have a bell or something so she can let you know she needs to go?

The male, Jake, you aren't planning on fixing him are you? How about a "marking post" where he can pee to his hearts content. Have it outside the door and let the other male at it too. Hopefully you can start a "peeing contest". The only other thing would be 'banishment' to out of home living arrangements.

MO 2-3 hours during the day while active is a bit too long to require Noel to hold it. I guess I would go back to letting her out every hour to prevent any household accidents. Especially, if you say she knows it upsets you. Puppies have much smaller bladders when active. Not really, but they just notice quickly that they have to go. When sleeping that is not the case.

Marking from an unneutered male is a touch one. I guess all I can offer with this one is constant supervision and consistant correcting. Never let him out of your sight that that this behavior never goes unpunished/uncorrective. Treat him pretty much like the puppy.

Sorry that I am not anymore helpful than that.
