heard of this breed?
Does anyone out there know about White German Shepherds or heard of them? I have one but never knew about them until I got mine. They're beautiful dogs I think, and really nice! But my question is, why arn't they in dog shows (like the Eukanuba Tournament of Champions) or anything big. Are they not a very popular breed, or haven't been recognized yet? Heres a pic if you want to know what they look like:

I'm not sure with the white german shepards, but white dobermans are not recognized by the AKC, it may be the same thing. They are beautiful dogs!

I am pretty sure that a WGS is not recognized by the AKC, silimar to the blue merle color in danes. I think that only the black and tan and black are AKC recognized.

I agree with GretaJack. German Shepherds I believe are only accepted with the black and tan markings, although they come in a couple different variations. Many different breeds are recognized by the AKC and although the breeds vary in color, only certain colors are acceptable.
Here is what disqualifies a German Shepherd from the show ring, I got it from the AKC site: Disqualifications Cropped or hanging ears. Dogs with noses not predominantly black. Undershot jaw. Docked tail. White dogs. Any dog that attempts to bite the judge. |

No! White German Shepherds are not allowed as certified for showing!Only the black and tan or just black!They are beautiful dogs though! oooooooooo can we see a picture of your baby?
