Another loose pup.

And another one. Today, he caught a sheltie. Either a badly bred one or one slightly mixed, though. Either way, it has a collar and tags. Jake called the owner and they said they had it out for a walk at a rest area. UNLEASHED. They let their young children take her out on their own and they let her off leash. She took off and they had to leave after looking for her. She came back looking for her family, and Jake barely managed to catch her.

Maybe I should call this thread Dogs Jake catches.

Yeah, Its god he ahs the heart to catch these dogs andnot just leave em. I could see if the dog stays off leash at home and the kids thought she would there too..but i mean come on thats kind of stupid to leave em alone. Jake needs a dog catching kit and maybe a cage to keep em in..lol

He told me today that in his 350 mile on way trip each day (he goes back and forth, so 700 miles) he generally see's one to four loose dogs. He rarely is able to stop and it's even harder to catch them once he does. He told me they are like cockroaches out there. Just everywhere.

I'm sure it makes Jake feel good when he is able to help! Was the family going to be able to pick their dog up or make arrangements?

i cant imagine leaving my dog off leash where there is so much danger. Thank Jake for the rest of us for taking care of those that need him most.

We neede Jake here today RC. I went to Petsmart and had Vanillas nails cut. During the week they have a few dogs in the middle of the floor up for adoption. Apparently a rat tail terrior pup jumped over the fencing and ran right out the door of petsmart and was running loose in the parking lot.

Jake talked to the about training and leashing. Some people just don't understand the dangers of leaving young kids (who've never been aroud a dog till they got this one who is still a pup) in charge of dogs like that.

Jake has to keep the dog with him as he was on the road. When he is driving through their area tonight, the family will meet him somewhere.

One time, a little mixed dog got loose from our Petco and went running out the door and was almost to the highway before being caught. I came to work and my boss was sitting there on the ground outside the door beat read and breathing hard. I asked her what happened and she told me she had just chased someone's dog onto the exit ramp for the 78! Thank goodness she caught him.
