What a Great Vet!

Late last night a dog was presented/transferred to my hospital with a fractured femur. The dog is from Wyoming, it had gotten out for 3 days and came back with a fractured leg. They brought it to their local veterinarian who attempted two surgeries to repair the fracture. No such luck.

The WY vet decided to drive the dog down to Denver to our hospital, and is PAYING for the bill for these clients. Crazy huh?! Plus, the vet is going to drive back to pick up the dog from us on Sunday and transport back to Wyoming.

We did surgery on the Australian Shep. Mix, and hopefully we can try to save the leg.

The point is, if you can't find a really smart, experienced vet.. you need to find a vet like this. I think this is one stand up veterinarian, makes me proud!

For sure!! This helps restore my faith in vets. Most I've met lately are clearly in the profession for the money. Maybe that's not why they started, but something's happened along the way.

Thanks for sharing this story!

It's great to hear a story like this. So often only the "horror" stories are told......they are more exciting...... There truly are some caring professionals around.
I hope they can save the pups leg....please let us know!

My vet drove all the way in to get hottie at an emergency clinic about 2 years ago I guess. The clinic had said he would not make it. He picked him up and drove him back to his office, and stayed with him all night when we thought we had lost hottie for sure. That morning phone call was the best Blessing I have received in years!
