Ideas On This Behaviour ?

I am not sure if Sadie is showing me her sense of humor , or trying to dominate me , or somthing else all together . She was a bit standoffish before , but after what I went through with her , she has bonded strongly to me , and has rarely left my side . I mean that litterally , when I walk through the house , she walks pressed against my leg , wagging her tail . I mention this , because I was wondering if this new behaviour is somthing to do with her bonding with me .
So I get out of my computer chair last night , (an old rocker/recliner type of thing) , to get a soda . She's right there all the way to the kitchen and back . But when I get back to my computer , she hops up and squeezes herself onto my chair ! She looked at me kind of funny , and I had to actually drag her off the chair , because she would not get down . No easy task with a 126 lb. dog . Had to hurry and sit because she was trying to get right back up there . Later , I let the dogs out , (not her , she was still glued to me) , and when I got back , again with the in my chair . Only this time , I swear she smiled at me , and was wagging her tail like mad . Still had to pull her off , only not so bad this time . I slept on the couch last night to be near her (she will not go up or down stairs without a bucking bronco type of fight) . She slept right beside me on the floor . Well , she woke me up several times , to go potty (again with the 126 lbs. , only this time , plopped across my chest) . When we came back in , she hopped onto my spot on the couch ! Smiling at me , wagging her tail . When I sat down beside her , she sat up and pressed the top of her head into my chest and sighed . But still , I had to pull her off the couch . Even easier than the chair this time .
So I'm trying to figure out , what is she trying to tell me ? Is this a "I wanna still be boss" thing ? Or her sense of humor ? Or an "I wanna be exactly where you are , mom" thing ? She really has me confused here .

Hum, my guess is I wanna be exactly where you are. With what she has been through she is most likely dealing with hormone levels changing and with pain from her c-section and spay. She wants comfort and you are comfort to her, not physcial reassurance but just your presence. You make her feel secure and she doesn't want to lose her security. Plus, she thinks she want to help you build up your arm strength by wrestling with a 126lb dog.

But anyway, she has been through a lot, you have been through a lot. Once she starts feeling better you will notice her starting to return to her same old self

Doubt it. She definitely has a bond with you that she didn't have before but I would think the clingy, neediness, might subside a bit

yup i would say she understands that she has a mommy who loves her so much now and wants to be with her.Especially after what she went through,u were there with her.And she probably is feeling lonley after the loss of her pups[a motherly instict that i'm not sure would just leave after the spay]!

My first thought is... her body & instincts tell her that she's supposed to have lots of warmth & bodies next to her right now. Combine that with -I really like my mom! She loves me! Then you get - Sticky Glue! Luvit, you've done amazing with the critters you have, here's one just showing you her appreciation. Besides the bennies.... just think of the muscles you'll develop 'bench pressing' 126lbs on a regular basis.

I'm going to agree with everyone else and say, she's just showing you that she loves you and she wants to be close. If she were really trying to dominate you, she'd probably growl and stop wagging her tail, and she'd get in your spot as soon as you left, not follow you around. Welcome to the wonderful world of Velcro Dogs. They'll make you trip, they'll get in the way, but nothing beats the knowledge that a little (ha!) being wants to be that close to you every moment of the day.

Talking

I agree with everyone else here. She's probably traumatized and insecure and you're her comforter. She wants to be everywhere that you are because you were with her through that whole ordeal and she loves you and knows she can trust you. She thinks of you as her protector probably

Thanks all , it makes sense now . Funny how blind we can be when it comes to our own . Lessica , Velcro Dogs , I like that one , lol .

I was amazed looking at this pic . I know in my head how big these dogs are , but seeing them every day , they don't look that big , lol . As you can see , she isn't waiting for me to get out of the chair now . lol
