Average adoption fee where you are?

I was just wondering what the average adoption fee was where you are?

Here it's anything from £100 (just over $200 US) to £200 (just over $400 US).

They may or may not be neutered
They may or may not have up to date shots
They may or may not have been microchipped
They may or may not come with leash, collar, bed etc

It all depends on the dog and which rescue they go to.

So what are the fees where you are?

Ok right here is my city all dogs are fixed (they dont leave the shelter otherwise) they have all shots, vet checked, collar, county licence, they are microchiped, plus they will give you a supply of heartworm. All that for $55 for dog, less if they are seniors (thats in the killed shelter) in the NON killed shelter they come with all of what i listed as well but range from $75 (seniors) up to $250 for purebreds with papers that previous owners left. One time i got mad because in that shelter someone listed a Puggle as a purebred and the fee was $250 like a purebred It listed "Adoption fee for this purebred Puggle is $250" i cant believe a shelter made that mistake.

We adopted Buddy from a no kill shelter for $ 80.00. The average price at the local Humane Society is $ 90.

Between the shelters and rescues it's about $200. Shelters are $80 - $125 and rescues are normally $125 on up depending on the rescue and breed(s). Small young pure breeds are normally higher due to demand. Old or special needs are normally lower.
Our rescue is $100 - $200 but most all are $150 to give every dog the care they need. Roscoes broken leg was $2000, Onyx was up to date on everything. Our rescue is new and we don't have a huge slush fund. We're networking like crazy to get the 22 at my house spayed and neutered before adopting them out.
Oh, the fees are all medical up to date and spay&neuters done.
To take your own dog for altering here is $150 minumum up to over $300 max...

The two local shelters are 75 last I checked, but breed rescues are 300 and up.

I would say the usual I've seen around here is about $50. I've seen some shelters that have dogs on 'sale' for $25 and the rescues, special pets etc can go up to around $350 maybe higher sometimes. I don't think most people know what a good deal they are getting. These dogs are usually up to date on shots and preventatives plus neutered. That's a pretty good deal. Much cheaper than the "free" dogs or puppies listed in the paper.

Two years ago a the local poud it costs around 80.00 to adopt a dog. If the dog was not spayed or neutered the dog had to stay there until the operations were complete.

When my father inlaw adopted his great pyr from a rescue service it was 150.00. That was about a year ago.

BUT I have seen a pure bred English Bull dog on Petfinders ....the adoption fee was 500.00, because the dog had papers. Now tell me what are you going to do with papers when the dog was neutered?

Well, at least that way you know it is actually purebred. I see ads all the time for "purebred..." whatever without papers then it goes on to say the dog was found wandering the streets or something. Yeah, sure. I saw one that looked close to full lab. The ad said "Golden Retriever, I don't know if she's full blood or not but looks it to me." I had to laugh at that one. The person obviously has no clue what a Golden Retriever looks like.
