Help/Suggestions

My friend is fostering a dog from a rescue about 2 hours from our town. She has been having issues with her own dog and the foster. She has already had to go to the vet once for a flesh wound. Her dog is really unhappy and she regretfully made the decision to send him back to go to another home. The problem is that the lady at the rescue said she has no way of getting the dog back and she doesn't know when he can get another foster home! So she is stuck with this dog. I thought maybe she could switch up dogs with my rescue in town and send her dog to one of our foster homes, and the lady said they don't usually do this. I think at this point if the rescue isn't going to take the dog back she could explore her options......any thoughts or ideas?????

I don't foster Sand, but from what I have read from other fosters, if the dog is not working out the dog is removed to another foster home. Apparently the foster she is is agressive. I wonder if your friend knew of this or if the shelter did not tell her. If this dog is upsetting her household, and is "flesh" agressive, than then the dog should been taken immediately out of this home.

I know thats what I thought, but she has no car and apparently the lady that runs the foster has no car either, since we are 2 hours away I don't know what to think. P.S. the dog is Clyde, my first foster and was NOT aggressive here but Sadie dominated him and he got put in his place, her dog is very submissive so he is dominating her and becoming aggressive.

My question is, how can a person that runs a foster not have a car? Is this a bunch of hog wash? The lady that runs the foster should step in and take the dog herself if need be. The agression has to stop before someone gets hurt.

Most rescues dont' have many if any open slots. One goes out, one comes in. Makes moving them around hard. Plus, no one wants to take on a "problem child". Most have mulitple dogs so one that's dog aggresive is nearly not movable. Trust me, I know from experience with Sammie!
If she's with an established rescue, I'd get the dog to them and not take any others since they can't give her the info she needs upfront or they don't temperment test before placing a dog in a foster home and she doesn't have the knowledge to keep it from happening until the dog is placed.

I don't foster either, but I was considering this at one time. I had reservations about bringing a dog in my home that would not get along with my dog and I was told by this shelter that they would take the dog back with no problem. I am not sure they would have done a switch, that may be difficult.

It is a shame they live so far from the shelter, I would not want to keep this dog in my house.
