Maia's Mommy Teats help

Is there anything I can do to help Maia out. The puppies have made her teats raw. They are bleeding some and just so sore looking. I normally use bag balm on everything but I'm not sure it's appropriate in this situation. She's not complaining (as usual ) I just feel so bad for her. Their teeth are coming in and the nails are sharp!
Thanks for any tips.

Just make sure it's not mastitis either. Maybe you can call the vet?

start them on solid food!.
if I'm right they are 3 weeks old and they must have teeth.
I would also help her by bottlefeeding some of them to help the Mom.
Bagbalm will help but she might need more time out of the cage and only be allowed to feed and clean them.
I would also call the vet and ask him!.

She's already gone through mastitis and is doing well from that hiccup. Everything seems fine except they seem thrashed from the puppies.
I will call and see if they have any recommendations. It's just going to be tough as the holiday season is upon us and the regualar Vet is doiing a lot of vacation time through the end of the year.

Yes, they're 3 weeks old on Thanksgiving. Dont' they have to be older to start on solids? I thought at least 4 weeks. I was going to ask about that too since I don't know.
She can leave and does any time she wants to. She is staying away from thm unless she's cleaning and nursing them now.

No,many people start around that age!.they will of course still drink from the mom but it will be less heavy on her.
Remember 10 pup is a big litter, even if not abnormal!.You buy puppy kibble, mush it and add milk powde for dogs, in it.

Here is an article that should help you:
www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=2&cat=1651&articleid=887
You can buy the replacement milk at petsmart or even walmart.

I also heard they have to be 4 weeks to start on solid foods, maybe start with canned food since they are only 3 weeks old?
