Update on Doxie

Well we are back. It was really hard, we were in the same room that Jill was in last Tuesday. Of course, I bawled my eyes out waiting for him to come see us. I tried to compose my self by the time he came in. Anyway Doxie has very bad allergies-it even caused his fever and of course his nose problems. He gave him an allergy shot, antibiotic shot and he is on antibiotics and prednisone and he said to give him 10 mgs. of Claritin a day. This should clear him up. He said something about the pollen this time of year-what pollen-everything is dead! I'm just relieved it was just his allergies. I'm also gonna keep the humidifiers running since the central heat unit is running quite a bit.

I'm sorry, it must have been hard having to be in the same room...
But I am glad that it is just allergies He'll be back to normal in no time!

Well I'll be darned. I never knew allergies gave a person or a dog yellow or green snot....but heck, I am certainly not a vet. How is Doxie feeling now?.....any better?

yes allergies can make colored mucus. it becomes an infection caused by the allergies irritating the nasal passages and than the other virus or bateria get a chance
glad Doxie is home and hope he feels better soon

He was better this morning-I didn't even have to chase him around with a kleenex to clean his nose. I used the humidifer again last night and put some Vicks Vapo Steam in it. It seems to help him and Carl. Between Carl's snoring and Doxie's nose whistling it was hard to sleep. I told Carl him and Doxie should have got in synch, then they could make music
