Poor Bowie

I haven't been on in a while...sorry about that. life gets in the way too much. but anywho.....bowie had to make an emergency vet trip this a.m. the dane, kichi, and him were playing, more or less bowie was teasing kichi with a toy and i think kichi got mad and went to bit at it and missed the toy and got bowies eye. his eye started filling up with blod and he was yelling and i was a wreck and hy husband got us in the car and i called the vet i used to work for and they told me that they would have o think about taking bowie today. i got mad and said whatever and we went to the vet down the street from us that is really good and they saw bowie right away and said he was going to be ok. after a satin and some good drus and drops we were home free......poor thing he looks so upset, but please keep him in you thoughts b/c we are hoping that he won't lose the eye or have any permenant damage due to the swelling and pressure on he optical nerves!

You certainly have my prayers and thoughts!
Mine (luckily) never play that roughly but I can see where an injury is easily inflicted. Hope he's on the mend!

That's scary! So sorry to hear it! Hopefully he's on the mend. One of our rescue volunteers lasso was hit in the eye by a tree branch in a storm. It was frightening for a few months but he did make a full recovery and he's an old guy, 14 or 16 now I think!

Best of wishes for a full recovery!

Aww poor guy!
Accidents can happen so easily sometimes, but luckily you were there when it happened to get him treatment as quickly as possible
Keep us updated on his progress, as it already sounds like he's doing better!

Well today is is whinning and getting up more, and trying to run around when he goes out to potty. So I assume that he is feeling better, but he did vomit 2 times this a.m., I think he licked the drops and gave him an upset tummy. Little guy can't win for losing. But we have our follow up tommorrow and we find out what kind of recover he is making!
