Its bothering him (docking issue)
So, I'll start with the refresher of Jinjo was "banded", and I will always condemn the practice in preference of a vet doing the job!
So, its bothering him. This started a while ago with an itch he can't reach somewhere near his butt. After poking around twice, I've found that its the skin (has no hair there) on the end of his stump thats bothering him. He's got a fold at the very end of it that I'm guessing is causing some dryness/rash. It also looks like it got pretty flea bit (like the rest of his back end ), so, I put some bag balm on it to help for now. Well, at the vets one time, she said that for the moisture problem under his pits, I could use gold bond medicated power but, I don't trust Mr. cow tung with something like that cause I know he'll lick it off . But on his little back end, do you think I could use it there for the fold on stump to stop moisture? The vet recommended it, and I know he can't lick back there. Is there any other product that I could use for the itching, dryness? Cortisone cream (what I use in his ears)?

You say he is flea bit...forgive me but i am not caught up on the story of this particular dog.
Once flea bites heal up he should be fine, but if you need to add the gold bond as rutylr mentioned. I have never had issues with my banded tails, but i also keep them soaked in iodine when they are "falling off" S |

!)Any way, the flea's have been gone now for about two months (frontlined and DE'd the suckers). The vets told us it could tack a few months for all the skin to heal fully because it was so bad due to his allergies . I'll try and use the Gold bond cause at least I know he wont lick it off there. And I don't think that his breeder did that, you see it was the stud owners idea to do the banding. I don't even think that the breeder know anything about the procedure, as she grew up in South Africa and I know there laws are similar to England, so they don't allow for that. I'll just leave it at that I, nor the breeder will have ANYTHING to due with "that" stud owner EVER again (stud owner also pushed for vaccines to be done early, vet says why his allergies are so bad). And Atomic, I'll also look that stuff up, anything too get rid of that icky red pit staining .
