Jett needs a small surgery - UPDATED

I took Jett to the vet yesterday because he has a little bump/growth on his left lower eyelid and a small cut on his left front paw-in the webbing. He has had the bump since September, but it was very tiny and the vet said to keep an eye on it and bring him in if it was irritating his eye. Jett is seven and a lab mix, so the vet figured that this was a small age-related skin tag or a little cyst. It hadn't got any bigger (that I could see), but it was causing the white of his eye to be red. The cut was just a little bald patch this weekend, but due to his obsessive licking it now has a little fissure. The vet pulled Jett's eyelid down and showed me that the thing on his eyelid has grown vertically down behind his eyelid and is now scratching his eye. So, they will remove it on Monday and if his foot still bad they will take a stitch or two in it. He will probably have to be a conehead Monday afternoon, but at least he will get to come home. The last time he had a surgery he was 4 months old and lost his cajones. I'll try to get a picture if I can get him to hold his head so I can snap it and you can see it.

Thanks, everyone, Jett and I appreciate the love! All four of mine have been in for something over the past 7 years, so he is in good hands-everyone at the vet's office loves him, so that's a relief-they don't have anyone there afraid of big black dogs!

Please keep us posted on Jett. You are wise to have both surgeries done at the same time. You would just be hit with another bill somewhere down the line. You are also very fortunate that your vet and vet workers are not afraid of big black dogs, when they see Uma coming most of them run!

Jett is back from his surgery-he did fine. He has a bandage boot on his foot and stitches in his lower eyelid. BUT-here is something a little weird and I don't know if this is just weird weird or bad weird. It appears that the bottom half of both of his eyes is blue rather than brown. My husband was loving on him and pointed it out-would this be as a result of the anesthetic or maybe the pain pill-he had a 100 mg. Deramaxx at 9 pm. I would take a picture, but I'm afraid that the flash will bother his eyes. Any thoughts? I am going to check and see if he still looks like that in the morning and call the vet. He doesn't have a fever, is peeing and pooping fine-no vomiting-he seems like he feels not too bad-just drowsy.

The bottom half of his eyes? That is strange. What is it like today?

My Mel had a growth removed from his eye lid a while back and recovery was quick, Jett should have no problems at all.
