Billy

Billy is a new member to our family!
We was'nt really looking for a new dog... but somebody told me they had been to see this poor guy and at 6mths he had not had his shots never been outside of a kennel or been walked or socialised.
That says it all... we brought him home a week ago!
When we brought him home he did not understand cuddles or human contact... a week on and he is like a new dog!
I think given time he wiil turn out just fine!
This is one of the first photos we could take with out him being scared...as he has never seen camera before... it's in our work shop where he seems to like it for some reason!

I'm glad you stepped in to give him a chance. Has the vet seen him yet? Make sure they look at his teeth as small breeds often have impacted teeth by the time thier done teething and the vet can give you a good idea if he'll need teeth extracted when the time comes after 9 months old. Also you can save a ton by having the teeth done at the same time as a neuter. That's what I did with Oliver and it worked out really well (at least for me!) Poor guy had it from both ends!

Yes he has seen vet...as he got his shots & i wanted to see when he can be fixed... the vet has advised he needs building up for amonth or so then we can get him done, His teeth are all fine and his over health, we already have a yorkie who has to have her teeth cleaned at the vets one a year... your so right about little ones and there teeth! He was full of worms so need to do that on a monthly basis for three mths... he also had ticks...we have treated them with frontline.hopefully we will get him built up and sorted out.

So how did you find Billy? Did someone just throw him away? What a shame....he looks to be a very good dog. Thanks so much for finding a place in your heart and a place in your home for him.

Oh that's great then! You're on top of everything and well on the road to a great life with Billy! I applaud you for taking him in especially knowing he would have vet expenses.

Many years ago I took in a very old very tiny silky yorkie I named Simon.
He was completely matted and stunk so bad due to mouth disease. I took him to the vet for a checkup and estimates and made a surgery appt to have the rest of his teeth removed and gums scraped. Then made a grooming appointment.
Got home and "lost yorkie" posters were all over. Oh, we found him in the street at midnight.
I called our friends at the shelter who took him into custody. I figured if they couldn't get him groomed, they couldn't get him out of doggie jail and they didn't. They gave the dog back to me chipped, I rescheduled his appointments and he had a wonderful last 3 years with us!

Oh and the couple who ran the dog pound we used to have here loved him so much they went out and adopted 2 of them!

some freinds of ours told us about this person that had him and they had just shut him up in kennels outside so we went and offered them some money and they snapped it up... if we did not get him my freind was going to report them to R.s.p.c.a and get him taken away from them... but he would of been just hanging around for god knows how long maybe even put to sleep...i just could not see that happen!
