Thumbs down Stinky Simon

So, he's gone from scaredy to stinky. Simon is getting Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul. Good stuff. The problem is, every evening a few hours after his dinner, he gets terrible gas He goes potty regularly, doesn't act crampy or bloated, but it is just awful. Does he need something? Is there anything that can be done, my house is not home 'sweet' home.

If you think it may only be something temporary I would suggest yogurt. It's really easy on the digestive system and generally settles the stomach quite well. Get natural vanilla yogurt and add a spoon to each meal.

Make sure you don't get a low-cal yogurt, because they contain artificial sweeteners like Xylitol that are extremely toxic to dogs, especially because your dogs is just a puppy.

LOL, I know all about that! Mel sometimes can curl your toes. Is this food new for him?

He's been on it for about a month and it is every night for a few hours. Not during the day or after his breakfast, only in the evening. It is atrocious! Sheesh, I went out and got Oust to try and tame it.

Do you think if I gave him yogurt just at night it would help him out? I'm willing to try just about anything- I want to keep him on this food because it's the best stuff around here.

yogurt probably wouldn't make it worse. but, if you decide to do it - make sure you get a plain one, no flavors b/c of the sweetener as mentioned above. they also make some with pro-biotics in it that might help too.
