Allergy problems with fish oil, need some advise...

HI Group, have another questions for you. Our girl Lilly has come up with some issues in regards to Salmon oil. Or in fact any fish stuff. Lilly is a Great Pyrenees, they are known for having issues with allergy problems. So I and our vet have watched over her from day one to make certain she gets no hot spots or anything. I put some Alaskan salmon fish oil over her food, I was told it is good for dogs. And it did help out a great deal with her coat, and any itchy skin she has. But I noticed after about a week of eating this stuff that she was licking her feet quite a bit. She wasn’t limping but when I went to look at why she was licking her feet so much. I found her hair between her paws was all red. I got upset thinking she has some real issues, and brought her in to see our vet. She told me that though she had two small lesions, and that she was having an allergic reaction to something I was feeding her. Which we found out was the salmon oil. It wasn’t as bad as it looked. She mentioned that the saliva in the dogs mouth if constantly licking their feet will cause them to turn a rust red. Which was true, as soon as she got over the allergy problem, her hair went back to normal. Any ways it turns out she is allergic to anything with fish in it. She had a real runny stool, when I gave her the water off of the can of tuna I had squeezed out for her.
Any ways with that all said, I would like to know what I could feed her that will be as beneficial as the salmon oil was for her hair. But that of course doesn’t have anything to do with fish oils.

Flax oil but some dogs are allergic to that too. Salmon oil is usually not common to be allergic to as far as I know.

I do not use the straight oil. I use the mackarel in oil unsalted. The actual fish seems to digest better and also absorbs better.. Try that- and less rich than the salmon etc..

Did the vet run an allergy test to determine your dog can't have any fish?
If not, how was the diagnosis made?

What alternative oil(s) did your vet recommend?

I will try the oil's that you are on here. I hope to help her with her winter itchy skin. As for her pictures, I don't know how to get them on here. wish I could, I love to share pictures of my babies.
