Unhappy Strike two...

Two interstate visits
Four artificial insaminations
48+hrs driving time
2 weeks of encroaching on someone elses life

NO PUPPIES!

We got the blood test back yesterday and it was negative.
My mother is still hopeful that she'll still have at least one pup and it just didn't show up.
I shall indulge her for a few more weeks.

After all of this work and still no pups. Very depressing.

Too bad about the puppies (or lack of puppies), have you had a specialist look into why she is having trouble getting settled?

BTW....I have a thoroughbred show horse, a sheltie and an Australian Shepherd puppy and I'm guessing you still spend more time on your dog than I do on all three of mine! A well groomed Olde English is a beautiful thing though!

Yes, they are gorgeous animals.
Pity I won't be able to show the next generation.
Or perhaps that is a good thing considering we're no longer allowed to dock the puppies.
The ones I've seen so far don't look like OES's.
Can't say I'll be missing the grooming. But I will be missing the puppies.

Oh What!! you gotta be kidding. After all that, NO WAY, just sit down with Snoopy and ask her what the heck is going on.

BTW..blood tests are conclusive, if the result is negative, that's the whack I'm afraid.

Oh dear, I know how much you wanted to do this but it's obviously not meant to happen this time. Keep at it, there's always next time.

BabyE, nope, this was her last chance.
We're getting her desexed. We can't afford to try another time. There's no stud fee for a non-conception, but the travel and work money was horrible.

Lol Ellierat, she had deformaties in her v'ulva which prevented a natural mating. Maybe that's the cause of the negative test and she just can't convceive...

Oh well. I'll get my puppies one day, I'm thinking of moving into Leonbergers. But they're extremely rare in Australia.

Thanks for your support guys

Oh, sorry to hear that, I didn't know, at least you still have a beautiful dog even if there are no puppies. I met a leonberger the other day, he was 12 weeks old and such a frightened little thing it was unbelieveable - lack of early socialisation on his owner's part. He was like a teddy bear though, loads of fur and gorgeous eyes...

Yep, I have tried with AI myself, without success. Been through all the blood testing stuff, best time to mate, is she pregnant.

I know it's a real pain in the butt. Very expensive and you give up, but you know what happened. Just when I thought there was no hope, I got another dog and whacko she was in pup, got me by surprise as I thought it was a phantom, cause there was no way she was able to get pregnant...talking about Soph. here.
I got the male for Ellie, not Soph. needless to say, Sophie is now spayed, cause I couldn't take the chance again with her..
Found her in the overnight pen, carrying a pup round in her mouth, and No she didn't have a big belly, completely fooled me..that's saying something. lol.
