Jett's 100%-plus!

Jett had the stitches in his foot and eyelid removed yesterday. He did fine, although the eye stitches were pretty tight and it took a bit of doing to get those out. A lady in the lobby who had a 10-year-old terrier mix asked me, "How old is he, about 1?" Heehee-, "No, he's 7." She was very shocked and couldn't get over how shiny he is and how white his teeth are. He is back to his old goofy ways, although occasionally gives his foot a few too many licks.

He had a growth on his right lower eyelid. It started out as a bump that I noticed in Spetember. The vet said to keep an eye on it, but unless it began to irritate his eye, it was nothing to worry about. It started to grow vertically down under his eyelid where it was rubbing his eye, so it had to be removed. At the same time, he had a bald place about the size of a pea on his left front paw. He is a little obsessive, (Jett) and licked it too much. He had a lick granuloma on his leg before, so when I took him for the pre-surgery visit, the vet said while Jett was out he would take a look at his foot (the sore was in the web of his paw now) and stitch it up if it needed. It did need to be stitched. It healed very well, but I may have to wrap it up again if he continues to obsessively lick it.

Good to hear, it's always a relief once the stitches are out! Do you have any happy photos to share?

That's great to hear!
So how was he with getting the stitches out of his eye?! I've seen some pretty nice dogs get really nippy when it came to removing stitches, especially near the head!

They had one tech taking them out and one with him basically in a headlock! He didn't growl or struggle because it was mom's job to say soothingly "Good boy, Jettie, almost done" He knows that almost done means the torture will stop soon! Then everyone was so excited when it was time for a treat!
