Pretty sure Dax (my 10 yr old rotti cross) has her first hot spot of the summer. She started to get them in the last two years.

We're going to vet in about an hour so he can confirm and lighten my wallet. I believe this one proabably started because of the puppy's saliva from play bitting the area. There's a small blood spot off to one side. BOY I hate these things. They look rotten - always wet & puss like. No swelling. With Dax's coat they are so hard to detect until they're almost an inch or two accross.

Hi Doglover, there is nothing worse than when our babies have something wrong, especially when you know you can't get rid of it for them for good. Hope all goes well at the vets and give her a big cuddle for me.

He confirmed it.. just a hot spot. Looks like I'll have to watch her every spring for signs.

But I'm glad it's nothing more serious.
