I still have Sidney!!!!!

I took Sid along with me to meet our director. She had discussed him with the vet when she had Buddy there this morning. He said this would happen and that the worms were breaking up in his lungs and causing a secondary infection. So we have another course of antibiotics for him. She said it would put more stress on him for her to take him than for him to stay with me where he is comfortable. So I got to take him home along with Buddy.

Poor Buddy had to have his back end shaved. He was so matted and dirty that they couldn't get him clean. He kind of looks like a poodle instead of a sheltie with a tuft of hair at the end of his tail and a shaved back end...... I doubt he will leave my home. He's 11 years old and has a stage four heart murmur and is a good 10 pounds over weight. It'll take someone with a big heart to adopt this little guy. He's welcome to stay with me for as long as he has left. I have a bag full of meds for him and he's such a trooper about taking them. I'll snap some pictures of him after he has had a while to settle in.

Brandi Kadin Judy and fosters Sidney and Buddy

Oh SM so sorry to see Sydney isn't doing as well as we'd all thought. You're a great mum to keep them both at hearth & home. Do keep the posts/updates coming.

You have such a big heart. Buddy is very lucky to have you taking care of him and loving him.

Hopefully this round of meds will help Sidney.

Where do you keep all your meds, do you have a schedule? I know with my two, they are both on meds and I have a container on my counter with a schedule of who gets what and when! I have even written their initials and the first letter of the medication on the lid as to not mix them up (that's mainly for my husband when I travel)

Each dog has a butter tub kind of dish with their meds in it. The name can be changed just by putting another label on the tub. I give all meds with their meals so if it's twice a day they get one in the morning with breakfast and one in the evening with dinner. If it's once a day then they just get the meds with the dinner meal.

I also give supplements to all the dogs here just to help them get over whatever ills they have or to help reduce stress.

Brandi and Kadin are on home cooked foods so they get supplements and calcium every night.

It's not hard to keep track of everyone as long as no one messes with my butter tubs!!!
